Bike trailers

A follower bike trailer, also called a half-tandem bike or follower bike, is a device designed to be attached to the back of an adult bicycle. It allows a child to pedal and learn to keep balance while being towed by the adult.

The follower bike trailer generally consists of a rear wheel, a saddle, pedals and handlebars. It does not have a front wheel because its front end is designed to be attached to the seat post of the adult's bicycle.

This equipment is intended for children who have exceeded the age and size for a child seat, but who are not yet large or experienced enough to follow an adult over long distances on a bicycle independently.

In addition, a follower bike trailer allows the child to actively participate in the bike ride, pedal at their own pace or rest when necessary. The adult riding the bike has control of the direction and speed, providing increased safety compared to a child riding their own bike alone.
